Melannie D. Brown, Evangelist, First Lady, Founder and Director of  Living Waters Women's Support Ministry, and wife of Pastor Anthony Brown, saved and sanctified, whose ministry and entrepreneurship expanded nearly three decades. She is a retired Cosmetologist with over 40 years of experience and has several businesses; her main focus is Melannie’s Event Décor and Design and her new venture, Green Rose Publishing. Melannie’s heart for ministry began early; she was raised Catholic and had a Baptist foundation. She knew her impact would be to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon relocating to Tacoma, Washington, in the early 1990s, she managed a new business and reconnected her commitment to God at a significant and transitional time in life.  Being recently divorced and navigating being a single parent, Melannie’s mom was essential in raising her three children.  With this support, she continued a path where God would eventually lead her to St. John Baptist Church.  While at St. John, Melannie was mentored by the First Lady and Church Mothers as she deepened her Christian walk.  Melannie served in various areas of the church.

After much prayer and fasting, Melannie accepted the call that was upon her. Her journey led her to the Church of God in Christ. It was preordained and predestined in 1994 that True Vine Community Church of God in Christ would be her “Azusa Street Experience.”  While attending a church service there, God filled and baptized her with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  Compelled by the Holy Spirit to unite with True Vine, she joined the spirit-filled church under the inspirational leadership of Bishop Leo Charles Brown, Jr. She remained an active member, serving for 30-plus years. During her tenure, she served in many capacities in the church. She then completed a master’s degree and expanded her ministry and business. In the Church of God in Christ, Melannie received her Missionary License in 2001 and Evangelist Missionary License in 2002. Melannie’s community outreach and serving are vast; her ministry began to expand, focusing on young adult women. God has elevated her, and her ministry has grown significantly. 2012, she was appointed the Washington State Jurisdiction Church of God In Christ Department of Evangelism Elect Lady. She is the Administrative Facilitator of the Jurisdictional Women’s Convention, the Events Coordinator, and the Christian Women's Council President. Internationally, she is a Women's International Convention Empowerment Team member and the International Department of Evangelism, Region 6 Elect Lady and Empowerment team leader. She also serves on the executive board for International Elect Lady Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole.

As such, Melannie is the Founder and Director of Living Waters Women's Support Ministry, established in 1995; Melannie D. Brown Ministries, established in 2007; Get Free Stay Free, established in 2015, a woman’s support group dealing with emotional and mental health; and P.O.S.H (Pursuing Ourselves Higher), established in 2016, a group focusing on young adult women pursuing education and business. She is the founder and host of the 2021 award-winning talk show Overcoming Testimonies, established in 2018.

 

Through prayer and life’s transitions, it was during the onset of the pandemic that she and now Pastor Brown began to reach a wider audience with the founding of their church, Living Waters Outreach Community Church of God in Christ, and ministering with the use of technology became a foundation for evangelizing God’s word.   She believed God would continue to use her and Pastor Anthony to reach the unsaved, encourage God’s children, and heed a spirit of giving.  She is the mother of 4 children: Dawn (Brandon), Bernard, and Anthony (Susan) Emerald. Grandmother to 10 beautiful grandchildren. She has just authored her first of many Prayer Journal workbooks. Her foundation scripture is Romans 8:28, and her motto is I BELIEVE GOD…
